The Scallop Shell Ring is made from the molding and casting of a real found scallop shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty mollusk shells on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. The Scallop is the birth shell for November. Once the casting is returned, I solder it to an open double band ring with a tapered bottom. Finally it is cleaned up and hand polished with care.
